Printed by F Devine & Co of Newgate Street containing First Team and “A” Team fixture lists and team picture of Newcastle United 1898/99 on reverse, also adverts for local shops selling Footballs, Football Boots. Also Ale houses, Billiard rooms etc. In remarkable condition for age with no creasing, no rips and no tears. A very light small fold to one corner and small pinhole to very top. Overleaf shows team line ups of both England and Wales with England’s line up being Kingsley of Newcastle, Crabtree of Aston Villa, Oakley of Corinthians, Wilkes of Aston Villa, Forman of Nottingham Forest, Needham of Sheffield United, Bennett of Sheffield United, Bloomer of Derby County, Beats of Wolverhampton Wanderers, Foster of Corinthians & Smith of Aston Villa. Wales’s line up contains Roose of London Welsh, Morris of Derby County, Meredith of Chirk, Parry of Liverpool, Jones of Aberdare, Hughes of Tottenham Hotspur, Meredith of Manchester City, Morris of Nottingham Forest, Owen of Rhyl, Parry of Oswestry & Williams of Druids. England won this match 6-0 Steve Bloomer was the first player to score two hat-tricks for England, was also the first to score 4 goals in a game twice, a record that's been equaled but never surpassed.
